In today’s interview we are going to be talking with Jane Sheeba from

1. Hi Jane, can you tell my readers and me more about yourself? What do you do in the world of online marketing for anyone who isn’t already familiar?

Hey Nancy, thanks so much for the opportunity. I’m Jane, the proud owner of Problogging Success. I also own a few other blogs (businesses).

I love the flexibility I can enjoy by doing my online business. I get to be available for my family and I am also proud to have a business of my own that generates consistent income and financially supports my family.

 2. When and where did you make your first dollar in Internet Marketing?

My first dollar was from Adsense. That was on a blogger blog that I first started. I wouldn’t call that a dollar made from internet marketing or via my business though J

My real first dollar that came from my business is from my e-book sale – Problogging Action Plan.

3. What strategies are Evergreen and help generating revenue month after month despite what some big search does?

Knowing your prospects well and delivering appropriate value works all the time. I can say that with my eyes closed. That’s the BIGGEST marketing lesson I’ve ever learned.

Some people go after creating valuable content but if that content is not appropriate for their target market, they’ll lose big time.

4. What is your biggest online marketing challenge?

Learning and keeping up with the new marketing tools and marketing methods is a great challenge. For one, time is a big barrier. We always have new projects to work on. But amidst that there are new marketing platforms and methods that pop up all the time.

However, I like this challenge. It helps me to keep up with the changes in my industry and also makes my business more modern.

5. What are your top “must follow” Internet marketing blogs?

6. How do you communicate your trustworthiness?

That is really a tricky bit with every business. It took me a very long time to get hold of it. And unless I know exactly how to communicate my trustworthiness to my prospects, I wouldn’t make it with my business. Real simple.

Now, to your question – I really infuse my business with my values. And I use my own (unique) voice in communicating. Being unique, and more importantly, not copying any other business gives me an edge over the sea of bloggers who simply want to imitate the big bloggers.

I make it a point to understand my prospects very well, put myself in their shoes and become them. For me it is not really about the money I make with a client. It is about how much I deliver.

I make it a point to seamlessly integrate these values of mine into every piece of content I create, every product and every promotion I do, and also every communication I participate.

7. What is the biggest mistake I can avoid starting out in Internet Marketing?

Starting without a clear business goal – That’s one of the biggest mistakes I made. And I would advise every marketer to get clarity about what they want to achieve, what their business is and who their target market is before starting to invest time and money on their website and business.

I’ve got a Success Sheet > 5 Keys to making money online

Feel free to download and workout this sheet (its free!). It will help you find clarity if you have been struggling on that part.

8. How can we find out what you audience is really looking for?

Yes I totally believe that finding out what my audience is looking for is highly important – to deliver REAL value.

I simply listen to my audience. If I take the time to look around, there are really many numbers of places where I can get to know what my target audience wants.

For me, the number one place is the comments on my own blog. And then the emails I get from readers (and mainly from my subscribers). Third, I seek out to questions from target audience on social media (Google+ and Facebook are my favs).

9. What is next for Jane, What can we expecting this coming year?

I am planning to do (and have already started to work on) doing major uplifts to my businesses – in particular, my main sites Problogging Success, Jane Sheeba and Best Hosting And Design. The uplifts will be in terms of the design, the quality of content and the nature of services offered.

I have a couple of e-books for Kindle in the pipeline – but that is for the second half of the year.

I am also planning to rebrand my diet and fitness site and have plans to start a fresh project.

10. What area of online marketing do you consider yourself an expert in?

Content marketing and email marketing. I have reaped many benefits in becoming an expert (well, I’m learning every day by the way) in these two areas.

Finally, I would like to thank Nancy once again for this wonderful opportunity.
