Top 10 Blogging Mistakes To Avoid

Bloggers often make common mistakes that inhibit their traffic and impact their blog.

Today I am going to cover the top 10  blogging mistake you should avoid.

Learn how to fix them so your blog can start driving traffic, build credibility, and engage your readership.

Mistake #1 Copy Other Blogs

Bloggers are not limited to getting their inspiration from other websites.

However, you should refrain from copying content from other blogs.

Do you want to create a successful blog?

You will need to do the work it takes to create a terrific blog.

The true foundation of any successful blog solely depends upon its content.

Be original, provide valuable content, and stand out from the competition.

Mistake #2 Not Posting Frequently

I run into many blogs that post every few months.

Avoid this common blogging mistake if you want to create a successful blog.

Frequent posting helps to attract more visitors.

Therefor more people will visit your blog and the larger your audience will become.

I personally try to post three post per week.

Posting three per week allows me to concentrate on creating great quantity content.

Posting a couple of times a week does affect how long it will take your blog to grow and get established.

It’s critical when writing such little content to provide exceptional work.

Mistake #3 Don’t Moderate Comments

Why is it important to moderate comments?

The ability to moderate comments give you control over the kind of message and spam people leave on your blog.

I highly recommend using Askimet plugin to prevent spam comments on your blog.

It is important to moderate comments otherwise spam impacts page rankings.

Mistake #4 Never Interact With Readers

Another common blogging mistake is not interacting with your readers.

Comments and interaction are what makes a blog different from a website.

Many of your readers love blogs because it gives them the opportunity to interact and converse with you.

Mistake #5 Write Off Topic

If you are a savvy blogger its important not to dilute the focus of your blog.

Try to focus on writing topics about your niche.

By writing off topic you will end up losing readers.

Many people asked me questions about how can they build a niche blog, its simple focus one topic.

Mistake #6 Proofread Your Work

You should always proofread virtually any written piece for your blog.

By proofreading your post it will increase your credibility, improve customer loyalty, and end up with a precise and easy to read post.

if your not the best writer try to get in a routine of reading your post slowly and carefully to determine whether or not it communicates its message.

Mistake #7 Quantity Over Quality

Bloggers that go for quantity are more likely to create low quality work.

Your readers are interested in quality post.

You’ll find that quality more often trumps quantity.

Readers want you to create solutions to their problems.

Mistake #8 Don’t Write About Yourself

By consistently generating useful blog post for readers, you will build credibility and grow your readership.

Your readers want engaging post that helps them with their issue.

Mistake #9 Not Using Killer Title

Writing a killer title plays a major role whether your reader will click on your post or not.

Headlines are important in a world where attention is getting scarcer.

People are more subjective in checking out a post when it has a catchy title.

Here are 4 great examples of headlines:

  • Exclusive sneak peek into xyz
  • How to build nearly anything out of wood pallets
  • 12 famous people whose names you don’t know
  • A shocking look into the life of a hoarder

Mistake #10 Not Targeting Your Audience

Make sure your blog is not falling victim of not reaching the right target audience.

Every blog should know their potential customers.

The common mistakes is targeting everyone and it leaves you targeting no one.

Do as much research to find your target market:

  • Ask your reader questions
  • Conduct Research on Twitter, Discussion Forums, LinkedIn Groups, Surveys, Magazine, and Facebook

          Hi Neon,

There are many methods in driving traffic to your site. Obviously using Social Media Channels is a great way. If you want faster traffic especially if you don’t have a massive following you can pay for traffic. I personally use Facebook Ads and love it. You can set up budget for as low as $5 per day. This will be targeted traffic for your niche. Its my ultimate favorite way and easiest.
