How Does Etsy’s Share & Save Program Work?
Etsy’s Share & Save Program is a win-win for both sellers and buyers. Here’s a breakdown of how it all works:
1. Share Your Unique Links: As a seller, you’ll receive unique trackable links for your shop or specific listings. These links can be shared anywhere you like – on social media, in emails, on your business cards, and more.
2. Buyers Click and Make Purchases: When potential buyers click on your unique links and make a purchase from your shop, you’re in for a treat. For every sale driven through your links, Etsy takes 4% off your Etsy bill. It’s like putting money back in your pocket with every sale!
3. Instant Refunds: You don’t have to wait long to see the savings. Etsy provides an instant refund of 4% of the order total, which is applied to your Payment Account. You can track your savings easily through your Payment Account.
Example Share & Save Order:
Let’s break down the numbers to see how it works:
- Order Total: $100
- Transaction Fee: -$6.50
- Share & Save Refund: +$4.00
This means that instead of paying the full $6.50 transaction fee, you’ll only be charged $2.50 for this order. That’s more money in your pocket for each sale!
Where to Share Your Links:
Wondering where to share your unique links to maximize your savings? Here are some ideas:
- Social Media: Post on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Pinterest.
- Social Media Bios: Add the link to your social media bios for easy access.
- Personal Connections: Share via text or email with your friends and family.
- Newsletters: Include it in your following email newsletter to engage your subscribers.
- Marketing Materials: Add it to your business cards or flyers to capture offline sales.
Etsy’s Share & Save Program Terms
- Buyers must place their order within 30 days of clicking your link for it to be eligible for Share & Save. However, your trackable links never expire.
- Share & Save is specifically for traffic driven from off of Etsy. While Etsy messages and listing descriptions are excellent ways to share product details with buyers, you won’t save on fees by sharing your trackable link in those places.
- Share & Save eligibility per order is determined by the buyer’s last click before purchasing. If the buyer visits your shop from an Offsite Ad, that order won’t be eligible for Share & Save, and the Offsite Ads fee will apply.
- You can join and opt-out at any time.
- You can access the program by following these breadcrumbs: head over to your Etsy dashboard > marketing > share & save.
