Hi, I’m Nancy. This policy explains what information I collect when you visit nancybadillo.com, join my email list, buy a course or membership, or connect with me on social media. It also explains how I use that information, who I share it with, and the choices you have.
In this policy, “I,” “me,” “we,” and “us” mean Nancy Badillo, the company behind nancybadillo.com. “You” means anyone who visits the site or uses my products and services.
By using this website, you agree to this policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site. Questions? Email me anytime at info@nancybadillo.com.
The short version: I collect what I need to send you emails, deliver your courses, and run my business. I never sell your information for money. I do use advertising tools like the Meta pixel to show my ads to people who’ve visited my site, and you can opt out of that at any time.
1. What information I collect
Information you give me directly
| When this happens | What I collect |
|---|---|
| You join my email list, newsletter (The Restock), or download a freebie | First name, email address |
| You register for a free masterclass or training | Name, email address, and any answers you choose to share |
| You buy a course, membership, or product | Name, email, billing address, and payment details (handled by the checkout provider, not stored by me) |
| You comment a keyword on Instagram or message me | Your social media username, messages, and email if you share it |
| You fill out a form, survey, or application | Whatever you enter, such as your Etsy shop name or business goals |
| You email my support team | Your name, email, and the details of your request |
| You opt in to text messages | Your phone number |
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, some information is collected automatically through cookies, pixels, and similar tools. This can include your IP address, browser and device type, general location (city or state level), pages you visit, links you click, how you found the site, and the date and time of your visit. My email platform may also record whether you open my emails or click links in them.
Sensitive information
I don’t ask for sensitive personal information like health details, Social Security numbers, or precise location. Please don’t send it to me.
2. How I use your information
- To send the freebies, trainings, and newsletters you signed up for
- To process your purchase and give you access to courses and memberships
- To answer support questions and help with your account
- To send you tips, offers, and updates about my programs (you can unsubscribe anytime)
- To understand which content is helpful so I can make it better
- To show my ads to people who are likely to find them useful, including people who’ve visited my site
- To keep the site and my business secure and prevent fraud
- To follow the law and protect my rights
3. Cookies, pixels, and tracking
Cookies are small files saved by your browser. Pixels are small bits of code that report what happens on a page. I use them for a few reasons:
- Essential: to make the site, checkout, and course login work
- Analytics: to see how people use the site, such as which pages are popular
- Advertising: the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel helps me measure my ads and show them to people who’ve visited my site. This is called retargeting
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well. You can also adjust your ad settings directly on Facebook and Google. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, I treat it as a request to opt out of targeted advertising for that browser.
4. Affiliate links
Some links on my site, in my emails, and on my social channels are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. When you click an affiliate link, the company you visit (such as Amazon, Alura, Canva, Kittl, or Teachable) may place its own cookie to track the sale. Their use of your information is covered by their own privacy policies.
5. Who I share your information with
I only share your information with companies that help me run my business, and only what they need to do their job.
| Service provider | What it does for me |
|---|---|
| Showit | Hosts my website |
| Kit (formerly ConvertKit) | Sends my emails and newsletter |
| Teachable | Hosts my courses and memberships |
| ThriveCart | Handles checkout and payments |
| ManyChat | Sends automated Instagram messages when you comment a keyword |
| Meta (Facebook and Instagram) | Runs and measures my ads; hosts my community groups |
| Google Analytics | Shows me how people use the site |
My team members and contractors, such as my customer support assistant, may also see your information when they help you. They’re required to keep it confidential.
I may also share information if the law requires it, to protect my rights or someone’s safety, or if my business is ever sold or merged.
Do I sell your information? No. I never sell your personal information for money. However, some state laws treat using advertising pixels (like the Meta pixel) as “sharing” or “selling” data for targeted advertising. In that sense, I do use your browsing activity on my site to show you ads on other platforms. You can opt out anytime. See “Your privacy rights” below.
In the past 12 months, the categories of information used this way were: identifiers (like IP address and cookie IDs) and internet activity (like pages visited). They were shared with advertising platforms, mainly Meta.
6. Emails and text messages
Emails. When you join my list, I’ll send you the freebie or training you asked for plus regular emails with Etsy tips, updates, and offers. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and you can use it anytime. I follow the CAN-SPAM Act: my emails include my business mailing address, clear subject lines, and an easy way to opt out. If you unsubscribe, I may still send you emails about a purchase you made, like course access or receipts.
Text messages. If you opt in to texts, you agree to receive recurring marketing messages from me at the number you provided. Consent isn’t a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. I don’t share your phone number or text opt-in consent with anyone for their own marketing.
7. How I protect your information
I use trusted platforms that protect your data with encryption and secure servers. I never see or store your full credit card number. Payments are processed by the checkout provider. Access to your information is limited to me and team members who need it. No website or online service is 100% secure, but I take reasonable steps to keep your information safe. If a data breach ever affects you, I’ll notify you as required by law.
If you have a login for my courses, please keep your password private and let me know right away if you think someone else is using your account.
8. How long I keep your information
I keep your information only as long as I need it for the reasons in this policy. For example, I keep email subscribers on my list until they unsubscribe, and I keep purchase records as long as required for taxes and accounting. When I no longer need your information, I delete it or remove anything that identifies you.
9. Children’s privacy
This site and my programs are for adults 18 and older. I don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, including children under 13 as covered by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you think a child has given me their information, email info@nancybadillo.com and I’ll delete it.
10. Your privacy rights
No matter where you live, you can ask me to see, correct, or delete the personal information I have about you. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under your state or country’s laws.
U.S. state privacy rights
Several U.S. states give residents specific privacy rights, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia. If you live in one of these states, you may have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information I have about you and get a copy
- Correct information that’s wrong
- Delete your information
- Opt out of targeted advertising and the “sale” or “sharing” of your information
- Get a list of the types of third parties I share information with
- Appeal if I deny your request
- Not be treated differently for using any of these rights
How to opt out of targeted ads. Email info@nancybadillo.com with the subject line “Opt Out,” or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. I’ll honor GPC signals as a valid opt-out request.
How to make a request. Email info@nancybadillo.com with the subject line “Privacy Request” and tell me what you’d like me to do. I’ll need to confirm your identity, usually by matching the email address I have on file. You can also have an authorized agent make a request for you. I’ll respond within 45 days, or let you know if I need more time as the law allows.
How to appeal. If I deny your request, reply to my response with the subject line “Privacy Appeal.” I’ll review it and respond within the time your state’s law requires. If you’re still not satisfied, you can contact your state’s Attorney General.
California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California’s Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), you have the rights listed above. You can visit this site anonymously, and this policy is linked on every page of the site. California’s “Shine the Light” law also lets you ask whether I share your information with others for their own direct marketing. I don’t.
Visitors from the EU, UK, and other countries
If you’re in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, I rely on these legal reasons to use your information: your consent (like when you join my list), to fulfill a purchase you made, to follow the law, and my legitimate business interests (like improving my content and keeping the site secure). You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or move your data, to object to how I use it, and to withdraw your consent anytime. You can also file a complaint with your local data protection authority.
I’m based in the United States, so your information is stored and processed here.
11. Links to other websites
My site, emails, and courses link to other websites, like tools I recommend and social media platforms. I’m not responsible for how those sites handle your information, so please read their privacy policies before you share anything with them.
12. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy as my business or privacy laws change. When I do, I’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top. If I make a big change, I’ll let you know by email or with a notice on the site. Using the site after an update means you accept the new version.
