Etsy Offsite Ads Opt Out
Etsy off site ads program automatically enrolls all sellers. However, since April 10, 2020, some sellers can now choose to participate or not. The option to opt out of Offsite Ads is based on your shop’s sales in the past 365 days.
If your shop has earned $10,000 USD or more, you must participate in Offsite Ads, but you’ll receive a discounted advertising fee.
If you’ve made less than $10,000 USD, Offsite Etsy Ads are optional, and you only pay the advertising fee when you make a sale from Offsite Ads.
You can check how much you’ve earned on Etsy in the past 365 days by visiting your stats page in shop manager. To learn more about the Offsite Ads fees and how the $10,000 USD threshold is calculated, refer to the Fees & Payments Policy.
How Do Etsy Ads Work?
Etsy Offsite Ads is an advertising service that promotes Etsy seller’s products across various external websites such as Google, Facebook, and Instagram. These ads are designed to attract potential customers to the seller’s Etsy shop. If a customer clicks on the ad and makes a purchase within 30 days, the seller will be charged an advertising fee.
These ads appear on third-party websites and platforms that have partnered with Etsy. The specific placement of the ads depends on the platform, but they can appear in search results, social media feeds, and display advertising banners.
While Offsite Ads can bring new customers to an Etsy shop, some sellers may prefer to manage their advertising independently. To turn off Etsy Offsite Ads, sellers can go to their shop’s marketing settings and select “off” under the Offsite Ads section.
It’s important to note that turning off Offsite Ads may result in fewer clicks and sales. However, sellers who choose to turn off the service will not be charged an advertising fee for any sales that come from external ads.
Etsy Offsite Ads are a way to reach potential customers on external platforms and drive traffic to an Etsy shop. While some sellers may prefer to manage their advertising independently, Offsite Ads can be a valuable tool for increasing sales. To turn off Etsy Offsite Ads, sellers can simply go to their marketing settings and select “off” under the Offsite Ads section.
Etsy Advertising Fees
When it comes to Etsy offsite ads, you’ll only have to pay a fee when a buyer makes a purchase as a result of an offsite ad. The amount you’ll be charged for sales from offsite ads will depend on your revenue category. If you made less than $10,000 USD in sales within the last 365 days, you’ll be charged a 15% fee on the amount you made from the sale before the advertising fee was applied. If you’ve made $10,000 USD or more, you’ll be charged a discounted fee of 12%.
It’s important to note that there is a maximum of $100 USD for the offsite advertising fee from an order, regardless of the total amount of the order that occurs from an offsite ad. This fee structure can help you better understand how much you can expect to pay for offsite ads and make informed decisions about whether or not to participate in the program. If you decide to opt-out of offsite ads, you won’t have to pay any fees for these types of sales.
